Expungement

Due to changes in Mississippi law, you may be eligible to petition the court to have the record of arrest and the disposition of your case to be expunged (deleted) from your record. Even when a case is non-adjudicated, dismissed, or you were found not guilty, the arrest and what occurred in your case will still appear on your record. This may harm your opportunity to be admitted to specific programs, and schools, and obtain employment, or promotions at your job. Many felonies and misdemeanors are now expungeable so that any record of your arrest will be removed from all official records held by the government.
